What is a Naming Ceremony? Looking for a Naming Celebrant in Brisbane & S.E. Queensland? A naming ceremony is very much a wonderful celebration of welcoming a new arrival into your family. You as the parents have taken much time and consideration in choosing your child's name; the name they will carry for life and proudly advise to others on a daily basis. A name you and your child will be proud of, so their name should be celebrated! A celebration of love and family.
It is a time when the name you have given to your wonderful bundle of joy can be shouted from the rooftops……a time when Godparents, Guardians or Mentors can be appointed and recognised……a time when your commitment to your child can be witnessed by those close and dear to you…..a time of offering to your parents your understanding of their sacrifice and unfailing love to you……a time of including family and friends in the life of your child. I will ensure your family traditions, beliefs and cultural requirements are included and respected within the ceremony. We will also include a lot of fun. You may wish to include symbolic activities such as the sealing of a time capsule, releasing of balloons, the lighting of candles, the planting of a tree, or contributing to a memento box of wish cards. Including family and friends is a way of offering an opportunity to them to be recognised as part of your child’s life by their offering love and support. It would be an honour to help design a ceremony with love and meaning for the new arrival in your family. Readings, vows, rituals and prayers can all be included. Parents, Grandparents, family and friends can participate by offering readings and participation in rituals. Ceremonies can also be designed to help families blend from previous relationships, and for adopted children to recognise the very important love and support of their new family. A personalised naming certificate will be presented to the parents or child. Certificates can be presented to Godparents and other participating members of the ceremony - a wonderful and loving keepsake.
